Volunteers - The Rewards of Volunteering through The Fund
“I don’t have a lot of free time, but I want to give back to my community. I’ve helped out at a number of Fund agencies over the years and I always feel good about the time I’ve spent with them. For me, this is an ideal way to give back.”
Mary N., weekend volunteer
“I’ve helped build several Habitat houses and I enjoy working side by side with the other volunteers and with the family that will be making the house a home. Plus, the skills I’ve picked up have been put to good use on my own home, which has made my wife very happy!”
Jack S., Habitat Providence builder
"I serve on the Planning and Program Review Committee at NRI Community Services (NRICS). At our monthly meetings, the committee receives presentations on unique or new services at NRICS. We ask questions and make recommendations to the NRICS Board. I’ve been a “Friend” of NRICS for several years, one of over 80 who are welcome to bring their personal and professional experiences in mental health or substance abuse to NRICS committees and affiliates. I recommend NRICS to any behavioral health advocate able to volunteer a little time."
