NONDAS HURST VOLL AND MARK REYNOLDS ARE THE 2012 RECIPIENTS OF THE Profile in Change Award

Our Annual Awards Ceremony is happening on Thursday, May 3rd from 6-8pm at Roots Cultural Center located at 276 Westminster Street in Providence, RI.
This fun, inspiring celebration to honor those who significantly and consistently contribute to social change will be the place to be this spring and will have the Who's Who of Rhode Island to honor our 2012 Campaign and Profile in Change Award recipients:
Nondas Hurst Voll
and
Mark Reynolds
CEO, Neighborhood Health Plan of RI


We will also be presenting:
The Voice for the Voiceless Award to Reverend Dr. Donald Anderson, RI State Council of Churches

The Susan Hamilton Welin Nonviolence Award to Providence Police and Safety Commissioner, Steven Pare

Along with our Outstanding Campaign 2011-2012 Award & our Board Member of the Year Award.

NONDAS HURST VOLL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FOR 2012

January 1, 2012 - The Fund has announced a call for entries for its annual Nondas Hurst Voll Scholarship for single mothers transitioning off public assistance to begin or continue studies in higher education. The scholarship was established through an endowment from Dr. Karen Haskell to honor Voll when she retired as Executive Director of The Fund.  CHARLES FOGARTY ROASTED BY THE FUND ON OCTOBER 6, 2011

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2011 - Every fall, The Fund roasts a well-known member of the Rhode Island community.  This year we honored Charles Fogarty, Director of the RI Department of Labor and Training.  Charlie is a respected leader who shares The Fund's commitment to creating a level playing field.

 

 

 

RiverzEdge at White HouseFor its effectiveness in developing creativity and fostering academic success by engaging young people in the arts and humanities, RiverzEdge Arts Project was recognized with a prestigious national award by First Lady Michelle Obama at a White House ceremony in October. Chosen from a pool of more than 450 nominations and 50 finalists, RiverzEdge was one of 15 after-school and out-of-school programs across the country to receive the 2010 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, the highest honor such programs can receive. The award honors community-based arts and humanities programs that make a marked difference in the lives of their participants by improving academic scores and graduation rates, enhancing life skills, and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
