Annual Awards Breakfast – Monday, May 3, 2010
The Fund's annual Changemaker Awards ceremony was held May 3, 2010. This year's award recipients:
- The Fund's "Profile in Change" award -- Henry Shelton, founder of the George Wiley Center. Download Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's statement read into the Senate record.
- The Sister Carol McGovern "Voice for the Voiceless" award -- RI Community Action Association and Ernie Marot, retired Director of the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen
- The Susan Welin Award for Nonviolence -- Brown University Mediation Project (BUMP)
- Outstanding Campaign 2009 -- Rhode Island Housing
- The Fund's Board Member of the Year -- Herman deKoe, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity RI -- Greater Providence
The ceremony took place at Everyman Bistro, 311 Iron Horse Way, Providence, from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. More than 70 people attended.
