Shelter Services operates Tanner House in Providence, Rhode Island, which provides safe, decent and affordable transitional housing for ten single adults (men or women.)

Tanner House promotes self-sufficiency. Professional counseling services are provided on site to assist as needed with housing, health, employment and money issues.

Applications for residency are accepted from throughout the state. Shelter Services is run entirely by volunteers, including a dedicated board of directors.

Various youth groups such as Beyond Our Walls and City Year have helped with the maintenance of Tanner House as part of statewide service days.
